Wedding Vows (Haiku)
Why Wedding Vows For A Haiku?
Throughout the course of my life, I have had the privilege to have a front row seat in watching a beautiful example of marriage and what it should look like. This example has been my mother and my father. My Mom and Dad have gone through many trials and tribulations. But, what couple doesn't? These trials have grown them closer together because they are able to learn from them. I have seen countless number of times, sacrificial love overflowing from one to the other.
Sacrificial, or unconditional, love is one of the strongest qualities a marriage should have. This love is the glue that keeps a relationship blooming well after the wedding vows have been ceremoniously stated. Wedding vows, in my opinion, are an everlasting concept in marriage. They shouldn't miraculously disappear after they have been uttered in the church on the wedding day. These powerful words should stay cemented in the couples minds forever and their actions should show it.
Why have I chosen a Haiku for wedding vows? I wanted to challenge myself to come up with a 17 syllable image to portray this powerful and beautiful concept of marriage. So, I dedicate this Haiku to my parents, because they have truly shown me how to live out the wedding vows I will one day share with my spouse.
