St. Augustine's Motto: Love God and Do As You Please
BACKGROUND
"Love God and Do As You Please" has been critiqued all throughout time, ever since it left the mouth of St. Augustine, a Latin philosopher and theologian who helped pave the way for Western Christianity. These words have by far, outlived St. Augustine and his predecessors.
However, some people view this saying in a negative way, because the words seem like they are originating from a blunt and irresponsible man. St. Augustine words did hold some solid weight, if looked at properly though. That is what I am seeking to to accomplish with this hub; convey this saying from a Biblical perspective and connect it to the question that has been echoed ever since the beginning of time: "How Can We Know God's Will ?"
QUESTIONS ASKED OVER AND OVER AGAIN
- How can I know God's will for my life?
- Is God's will attainable?
- How do I know if I am in the center of God's Will?
- Is this God's will for me?
ACCORDING TO JOHN MACARTHUR
Many Christians love and respect John MacArthur for his ability to simply, but intelligently and precisely preach God's Word. I will be sharing a short clip from one his sermons that, in my opinion, beautifully sums up the answer to the question, How Can We Know God's Will?
What did you think?
If you watched the video I posted here, do you agree with John MacArthur?
CLOSING THOUGHTS
I could go on and on relaying truths from various devout men of God and sharing truths from scripture, but I just want to leave you with this short video and see if it starts any discussion. I highly respect this preacher; he has been a great role model in my life. If you like this hub let me know, and I may consider creating a sequel.
